Mathematical Psychology Reunion - June 2018
In June 2018, students of the 1968/69 MSc Course in Mathematical Psychology gathered on campus for a fifty-year weekend reunion and to remember the leader of the Course, Senior Lecturer, Michael F Moore. The weekend began with a lunch at Willow Court Bistro and then carried on for a visit to Airthrey Castle and the sample student study bedroom. A visit to Pathfoot for the Fergusson Exhibition and other old haunts in that building followed. In the evening all gathered for a buffet dinner in the Stirling Court Hotel and presentations starting with an illustrated talk, “The Life and Times of the University of Stirling” by Angus Annan and then potted bios on “What I did after the MSc” from everybody.
They also took time to remember pioneer colleagues in Mathematical Psychology, Ranald Macdonald and Alistair Watson.
In walking around campus, all agreed on the huge changes and the great progress made by the University in the fifty year period since their course and they remembered their time at Stirling as the foundation of their careers.
Remembering Michael F Moore, affectionately known as “MF”.

Maisie's - August 2016
Thank you to organiser and participant, Billy Gilmour for his summary of the event: 'Following the success of last year's bank holiday reunion bash at Pathfoot, some of the Maisie's Folk-Club regulars – John Boyd, Billy Gilmour, Sarah J Slater, Eddy Graham, Paul Higgins and Val Hendry – returned for one more huzzah. We were joined once again by members of the Union bar staff from the 80s; Marlene and Jan provided backing vocals for John in their legendary rendition of 'Blue Murder', sorry 'Blue Moon'.
We were delighted to meet a number of ex students from the early 80s ( Imogen, Gael and Sue) who, on spontaneously forming 'The Black Isle Beauties', became John's backing vocals.....to international acclaim! They even took the lead on a couple.
Agnes did a sterling job behind the bar and even served pizzas, the quality of which have improved markedly since the time of Maisie.
Overall, most of us thought this year was even better than last year, mainly because we got the use of the actual Maisie's bar – now called Studio.
Special thanks to Jennifer Forman and Frances Slorance for supporting us throughout.
